About   ashlee

I am Ashlee Norman and I am passionate about Hair, Entertainment, and Education!

My love affair with hairstyling really caught flame while performing in my high school theater program, as my original ambition to become an actress quickly dissipated when I discovered my true artistry in hairstyling backstage.

My professional career started in High School as I took advantage of ROP (regional occupation program) for Cosmetology, but my education did not stop there. From the beginning of my apprenticeship to this day, I continue my education constantly through top industry academies as well as independent educational sources. My pursuit for knowledge even extends in traditional areas of business as I also pursued, and achieved with honors, my Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Merchandising while working full time.

Four years into my career as a hairstylist, I began my journey as an educator when I was promoted to Bumble and bumble Network Educator at Shannon Hair salon in Valencia, Ca. I would travel to New York to train in advanced techniques and then upon my return I would hold a live-model demonstration/ hands-on “teach-back” for the salon staff. I expanded on this liaison teaching method with each advanced class I attended across the nation as well as started an in-salon assistant training program, teaching 3-4 classes per month. I was quickly promoted to Manager and hired a team of educators, whom continue in the salon's leadership to this day.

After 7 years as a salon educator, it was time for the next adventure in my career. I organically grew a following of peers in my industry through posting techniques and formulas on social media. Becoming an Independent Educator was a natural transition. Now I travel to teach hairstylists from all over the country and Canada.  I teach a collection of methods I have learned as well as those I have evolved on my own. I believe each stylist is their own artist and with solid technical theory and an arsenal of techniques, they can learn to problem solve and create their own esthetic.

The accountability I feel toward my clients and students keeps me pushing forward. When I am able to bring them value, I am most fulfilled and therefore continually strive to do and create superior fashion forward work to beautify and inspire them.
